On Sunday morning, we slept in and then had lunch at the OLIVE GARDEN! I absolutely love this place and REALLY wish they would bring one to Hawai'i!!! Here's Daddy and his lil girl...
For starters, we had a salad, chicken gnocchi soup, garlic bread sticks, and an appetizer with calamari, fried mozzarella and stuffed mushrooms...YUMMM!

I had a creamy seafood alfredo...

and Wil had a Tour of Italy. It was a trio of lasagna, alfredo and chicken parmigiana...

After our delicious meal, we started out on our 2 hour drive to Ephriam, UT. I know that for you mainlanders, a 2 hour drive may not be so bad, but holly-moly!
This is who we drove to see. Yasmin Heywood. She is an AMAZING friend and though we didn't have as much time to talk as we would have liked to (well, we could probably go on for days), she talked to Wil about letting me come up for a "girl's vacay" ;)

The hubs and Tevita hangin' out...
Talking story at the table with Yasmin and Arlene ♥

Chalei made new friends with Anela and Arlene's daughter, Malia...

All of us hangin out in the living room. I loved her new home.
While we were there, it started snowing! Our prayers for snow were answered! It was so cool! It looked like white bubbly foam falling. It was my very first time seeing snow. I was amazed and so was Chalei!
We left around 9 pm because my hubby was a little concerned about us driving back 2 hours in snow. I thought it would be fine, but boy was I wrong. It was whipping at the windshield (almost like that old school computer screen saver that has white stars/dots flying fast at the screen), and it was pretty scary. Visibility was horrible and I was grateful my priesthood holder and I said a prayer before we left. He got us back to the hotel, safe and sound. Oh boy, was that an experience!
This is what it looked like :-/

We were saved by our rental van because it had a dvd player installed and she was able to watch Barney and Primary Sing-a-Longs on the ride out and back!

ReplyDeleteI have started to like it a lot more up here in Utah, but NOT driving in the Snow. Every season, my anxiety is on high alert when I have to drive through the snow because it's soooo scary! But I'm so glad you guys made it back, especially from Ephraim! And are you still here? I hope you guys are enjoying it a lot if you are! By the way, Olive Garden is my guilty pleasure and I wish Hawaii had one too, so I wouldn't miss the mainland if ever I moved back home. haha
